12 days of intensive artistic exchange in the former factory “La Brilla” in Massarosa (Tuscany), where young artists immerse themselves in a completely immersive working and living community. The project is explicitly aimed at advanced students, as it is based on independently coordinated group work.

To participate in the Massarosa 2026 project, people residing in Germany must register for the “RRCGN Match Days 2026.” All interested parties are invited to register for the Match Days on the project page.
The RRCGN Match Days 2026 are your gateway to all international ROOTS & ROUTES projects: During two free workshop days, you will get to know the team, receive feedback on your artistic skills, and find out which project suits you best. Participation in a Match Day is a prerequisite for taking part in this international exchange project.
In the seclusion of Massarosa, right next to a natural oasis on Lake Massaciuccoli, the INTO project offers a space for in-depth artistic exploration. In the former factory “La Brilla,” everyday life and art merge over the course of the project: as an immersive working and living community, 12 days are spent following the circadian rhythm—the cycles between day and night, sleep and wakefulness, and the cycle of birth, transformation, and death.
Under the guidance of coaches Susannah Iheme (dance/movement) and Marina Arienzale (visual arts), and with the support of a sound producer (focusing on the recording and production of sound levels to complement the artistic works), participants explore the connection between body, space, and perception of time.
As the project requires a high degree of autonomy and artistic maturity, it is explicitly aimed at advanced and professional artists under the age of 31 from performative and visual disciplines – INTO is not designed for beginners. The focus is on joint experimentation and exchange between the various art forms. The project will conclude with a public sharing of the results on September 5.
The residency is funded by Erasmus+ Youth, is barrier-free (equipped with ramps and an elevator), and includes predominantly vegetarian meals on site.
The project is organized by our international partners at the Centro di Creazione e Cultura organization in Florence.
