In the fall of 2021, young people between the ages of 14 and 18 participated free of charge in a street dance and theater project with the experienced RRCGN instructors Elisa Giovannetti and Yasemin “Joya” Saat.<\/p>\n

The project group met at various locations, including OT Werkstattstra\u00dfe (Nippes) and OT Vita (M\u00fcngersdorf), and together they developed an urban dance theater piece, which was then performed in December in front of a small audience.<\/p>\n

Through different dance techniques and styles (Waacking, Waving, Tracing, Freestyle, and Urban Dance), storytelling and meditation, as well as theater techniques (View Point, Decroux, Commedia dell’Arte, Russian Biomechanics), the participants engaged in self-reflection and explored their own bodies, which led to the creation of the performance.<\/p>\n

“AkzepTanz” is a ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V. project in collaboration with OT Werkstattstra\u00dfe (Evangelical Church Community Cologne-Nippes) and the Offene T\u00fcr OT Vita (SKM Cologne e. V.), under the artistic direction of Yasemin “Joya” Saat and Elisa Giovannetti.<\/p>\n

The project is funded by the “ChanceTanz” program of Aktion Tanz \u2013 Bundesverband Tanz in Bildung und Gesellschaft, within the framework of the “Kultur macht stark \u2013 B\u00fcndnisse f\u00fcr Bildung” program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
