Andreas has been the first chairman of ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V. since the association was founded. He works as a systemic coach, supervisor and is a youth education officer in the district of Breisgau Hochschwarzwald. In the 2000s, he was a fixture in Cologne’s electronic nightlife as DJ Kernes, played at the invitation of the Goethe Institute in Cairo and for Björk’s CD release event in Bilbao, and organised the legendary beat boutique parties at the Gewölbe in the Westbahnhof. Andreas managed the first ROOTS & ROUTES projects in Germany together with Sascha Düx since 2005 (at that time under the umbrella of the jfc media centre) and was secretary general of the international ROOTS & ROUTES network from 2009 to 2012. In secret, he perfects the art of the Palatine 5-line freestyle verse.
