From May 24 to 27, 2026, artists, youth workers, project coordinators, and cultural professionals from across Europe gathered in Florence, Italy. The goal: the seminar “International Network Development and Regeneration in Artistic Youth Work” (INDaRAY26).

Organized by us and hosted by the Centro di Creazione e Cultura, the event provided the perfect space to exchange best practices, discuss current societal challenges, and lay the groundwork for future international collaboration. Partners from eight countries participated: Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, and Hungary.

INDaRAY26 brought together professionals from a wide variety of cultural and artistic backgrounds. The focus was on dialogue, mutual learning, and joint reflection on how art and creativity can sustainably empower young people and local communities.

During the intensive sessions, participants shared their experiences from daily practice in their local contexts. Key themes for future collaborations quickly emerged: mental health, community engagement & social inclusion, democracy & civic participation, intergenerational dialogue, and the growing influence of AI (artificial intelligence) on cultural work.

A key focus was on innovative project ideas that directly address the needs of young people. The concepts ranged from artistic approaches to emotional education to initiatives that support young artists and create new spaces for youth leadership.

The ideas and discussions initiated in Florence will continue to develop in the coming months. So you can already look forward to future projects, partnerships, and activities that empower young people through creativity, participation, and international exchange!
