Marina Arienzale

Marina Arienzale was born in Florence in 1984 and lives there as a freelance artist. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and later specialized in photography at the Studio Marangoni Foundation. At the same time, she is heavily involved in non-formal education, participating in local and international CCC projects where creative work and artistic education are closely intertwined.

In 2022–23, she took on a leading role in CCC projects, with a special focus on documentary film. She was instrumental in the pre-production of the ENACTING MOOC and worked as an artistic-educational mentor for a class at the Porta Romana art school and on “Scénarios verts.” As part of the J-MED collaboration between Italy and Tunisia, she accompanied ten Italian and Tunisian video artists in the conception and production of four short documentaries reflecting on water issues.

Her career has been marked by collaborations with a wide variety of artists, including Chinese artist Song Dong (for Eating the City in Barcelona), Mariana Rocha, and Marcello Maloberti, and she has also worked as a performer for Marina Abramović in THE CLEANER. Her research combines individual experience with collective and public perspectives, mixing conceptual and documentary approaches.

Marina has participated in exhibitions and projects worldwide, including IMPORT/EXPORT at Flutgraben in Berlin (2024) with Departure and INVENTARIO in Brussels (2025). Other notable works include The Wall, SCRIPTA L’arte a parole (curated by Pietro Gaglianò), Prima Visione Galleria Belvedere (G.R.I.N.), and the F.O.A.P. Firenze Open Art Project (curated by Andrés Morte and Cristina Caprioli). Her outstanding works include IN GERMANY THE BREAD DOESN’T EXIST, GOODBYE AMORE CIAO, and CASA DEL POP. She is the winner of the Nocivelli Prize.
