A danced love letter to urban stage art

Mind Ur Step brings together eleven professional urban dance artists* from four countries for an international dance production: an ode to the urban stage art of different generations, artistically led by the renowned urban choreographers Nabil Ouelhadj (FR), Lloyd Marengo (NL) and Kader Attou (FR). The result is a fusion of reinterpretations of selected repertoires and specially developed creations by the eleven dance artists. Already celebrated in France, the Netherlands and Belgium, this powerful and poetic production finally also came to Germany in April 2019.

The “Mind Ur Step” project aims to bring together the urban dance scene and established theatres. Accompanied by experts from performance and choreography, young dance professionals from Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Germany developed the project in three residencies – November 2017 in Rotterdam, July 2018 in Heek/NRW and November 2018 in Centre Chorégraphique National de La Rochelle – an international dance production that has been touring Europe since its premiere at the La Rochelle Shake Festival, including the CaDance Festival The Hague, the Koninklijke Vlaamse Schouwburg Brussels and the MAASpodium Rotterdam, schrit_tmacher Festival Aachen and Alte Feuerwache Köln.
