The Migrated Body
14. July - 19. July 2025
The Migrated Body, a dance project that immerses participants in their own cultures for a week. During the summer holidays of 2025, young people up to the age of 18 were able to take part in a dance project with Ludmilla Schemak and Ekaterina Thor free of charge.

The project group met in the ROOTS & ROUTES Space and worked together in various dance workshops on their own bodies. The focus was on the theme of individual cultural influences. “The Migrated Body” was aimed at anyone interested in dance and movement.
Through various dance techniques and styles—including waacking, waving, contemporary, floorwork, and improvisation—as well as creative writing and group dialogue, participants engaged in intensive self-reflection. The workshops were accompanied by many questions, the answers to which were sought through the body: What gestures does your culture bring with it? How many names do you have and what do different people call you? What smell do you associate with your cultures?
