Baltrum – Coming of Age 2026

1st – 14. October 2026

With “Coming of Age 26,” we are returning to the North Sea island of Baltrum for the first time with a special format for former RR participants. In a two-week residency, former participants will work on new artistic ideas—supported by coaches and the RRCGN team.

To participate in the Baltrum – Coming of Age 2026 project, you must register for the “RRCGN Match Days 2026.” All interested parties are invited to register for the Match Days on the project website in good time.

The RRCGN Match Days 2026 are your gateway to all international ROOTS & ROUTES projects: During two free workshop days, you will get to know the team, receive feedback on your artistic skills, and find out which project suits you best. Participation in a Match Day is a prerequisite for taking part in this international exchange project.

Since the first RRCGN meeting in 2014, Baltrum has become a permanent location for artistic development. For Coming of Age 26, we are launching a format specifically aimed at people who have already participated in at least one ROOTS & ROUTES exchange.

In a self-catering house on the edge of the nature reserve, former participants meet to continue working together: on their own questions, on transdisciplinary ideas, and on issues of growing up in an artistic context.

The impulses and the subsequent theme will be developed jointly within the group. The residency offers space for in-depth research, exchange, and concentration—accompanied by artistic coaches and the RRCGN team.
At the end of the two weeks, the resulting works will be presented in Cologne.
